The summer has slipped by quickly and kids are back in school. But how many of those kids have a fair chance to perform their best in school?  If they are hungry because their family is struggling to get food on the table, then they are at a big disadvantage.  According to data collected by Feeding America*, the rate of food insecurity among children in Collier County is 19.4%.   That’s just shy of 1 in 5 children living with inconsistent access to enough food.  And the problem doesn’t end with children.  Seniors too are often having to choose between medication and healthy food.

Helps Outreach is a charitable organization located in North Naples that provides a food pantry to help people who don’t know where their next meal is coming from.  But unfortunately, our supply of food is running short in certain areas and we are now asking for the help of the broader Naples community to re-stock the inventory.  More specifically, we are looking for donations of the following items:

  • Pasta and pasta sauce
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Hamburger Helper
  • Canned tuna
  • Canned chicken
  • Canned peas
  • Canned corn
  • Canned green beans

Donations may be dropped off in back of the Helps Outreach building which is located at 2025 J&C Blvd, Naples.  Of course, cash donations are always welcome and you can click HERE to make your contribution.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and may God bless you.
